Did you know about the secret valley, a slice of paradise in Dalaman’s hinterland? Discover its lakes and other treasures in this post on how to get there.
A day at the secret valley, Dalaman’s hinterland
When you think of Dalaman, the first thing that pops in your mind is most probably the airport. Most people leave the area as soon as they land to spend their holiday in resorts such as Fethiye, Dalyan, or Marmaris. But in all fairness, there is plenty to see in the immediate surroundings of Dalaman. There’s a lake almost right next to the airport for example. It is called Kocagöl, and you drive past in when going to Sarsala Koyu and Cleopatra’s bath. Half an hour away from the airport, Köyceğiz and its lake are very pretty, and very Turkish still. And less than half an hour into Dalaman’s hinterland you’ll find the secret valley. Okay, technically speaking it can’t be much of a secret if we’re writing about it, but that’s what it’s called. So it was high time we took you for a tour of the valley and told you how to get there.
